Les Chercheuses en BD Exhibition

MCAF, in partnership with the Consulate General of France in Quebec City and the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Nature et Technologies, is launching the 2nd edition of the exhibition Les Chercheuses en BD (Women Researchers in Comics), to showcase the careers of the women who make up today’s science, in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields.

Following calls for applications launched this summer, numerous profiles of female researchers and cartoonists were received. Among them, 21 women from 13 Quebec universities were selected. The artists, from France and Quebec, were chosen by MCAF to work with them.

Each scientist-comic duo exchanged ideas to produce two comic strips illustrating their research careers and activities.

The exhibition will run from December 5, 2023 to January 16, 2024 at the Université de Montréal (Pavillon Jean-Brillant: 3200 Jean-Brillant, on the 2nd floor, near the legal clinic).
