Born in France, Béatrice grew up surrounded by the fabulous comic books of the 1970s. Their message is clear: you don’t have to grow up and become an adult, and that’s a huge relief. Later, she studied art history, anatomy and perspective at the Sorbonne University and the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, before embarking on a career in commercial illustration. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Montreal, a lively and highly cultural city. She then worked as a freelance illustrator in publishing and advertising, devoted herself to live painting, and then discovered the magic of digital art. With the new software emerging at the time, she found herself working in post-production, special effects and animation. She then returned to illustration, hand-drawn art, and the pleasure of days spent outdoors. She now lives on the shores of the magnificent Lake Davignon in Cowansville, where the social life of the ducks holds no secrets for her. She continues her travels far and wide, and immerses herself in personal projects close to her heart, such as Cécile, the graphic novel adaptation of the novel Les Liaisons dangereuses, and it is on the edge of tropical jungles that she draws the French gardens where the famous intrigues unfold.
