About Manon Debaye
Manon Debaye was born in France. After graduating from the École Estienne, she enrolled in the illustration program at the HEAR in Strasbourg and settled permanently in the Alsatian capital. She currently works at the Garage Coop studio, where she creates comics and illustrations. She regularly contributes to publications such as The New York Times, Society, and Zadig. Her two graphic novels published by Sarbacane, La falaise (2021 / Philippe-Druillet Prize / Galerie Barbie) and Des filles normales (2025), are stories about adolescence, female friendships, and power dynamics. Running through both books is a persistent question: how does one grow up as a girl? La falaise is also published in English under the title The Cliff by Drawn & Quarterly (translated by Montana Kane).
