Emilia is an award-nominated queer, disabled Ukrainian comic artist and writer based in Canada. They create stories across autobiography, fantasy, and horror, exploring themes of neurodiversity, mental health, and resilience. Their self-published autobiographical graphic novel, Be Yourself! Oh, Not Like That, debuted in 2024 and offers a deeply personal look at growing up undiagnosed autistic while navigating the journey toward self-acceptance. In 2025, the book was nominated for a Doug Wright Award for Best Small- or Micro-Press Book. In 2026, it received nominations for the Zelda Awards for Best Graphic Novel (Non-Fiction), and she was also nominated for Emerging Trailblazer. They are also the creator of Oriana: The Forgotten Deities, a fantasy comic rooted in modern interpretations of Slavic mythology, set for release in 2026. As a queer and autistic artist, Emilia creates work that reflects the depth and diversity of human experience, aiming to spark connection and conversation. She is deeply passionate about storytelling and hopes her art can offer comfort and a sense of refuge to those who need it. They frequently speak on panels about challenging topics in comics, including mental health, disability, getting started in the industry, and building rich, fantastical worlds.
