About Shaghayegh Moazzami
Shaghayegh Moazzami was born in Iran in 1986. She graduated from Tehran University of Fine Arts in 2010. She began her artistic career as a painter, but her interest in storytelling soon pushed her towards illustration and comics. In 2016, she left Iran to settle in Canada. Since 2017, she has been working as a cartoonist for Iranian websites based abroad. In 2021, she published her first graphic novel Haunted, in which she recounts how the weight of Iran's conservative mentality continued to weigh on her even after she arrived in Canada.
