Noémie Poulin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University, majoring in painting and drawing and minoring in animated film (2022 Yves Gaucher Award). She has been working for some twenty years in the set and costume departments, primarily on film productions. She has worked on over 60 productions, both in prop making and costume patina. Among other roles, she was in charge of the prop workshop on X-Men Apocalypse, served as prop and costume fabrication team leader on 300, and worked on costume patina for La petite fille qui aimait trop les allumettes. Noémie has been interested in experimental and abstract comics for over fifteen years. She explores the possibilities of constructing a narrative without text, where the image guides the reader through various sequences, a world where one can still sense a narrative rhythm, the unfolding of a story guided by elements that are more or less figurative.
