Montreal Comic Arts Festival Confirms Its Co-Direction

Pauline Laurent Joins Virginie Mont-Reynaud at the Helm of the Organization

Montreal, July, 27th, 2026 – The Montreal Comic Arts Festival (MCAF) is pleased to announce the nomination of Pauline Laurent as Co-Executive Director and Director of Administration for the organization. She thus completes the Festival’s new co-direction, alongside Virginie Mont-Reynaud, Co-Executive Director and Artistic Director, whose nomination was announced this past February.

Shared Leadership

This co-direction model, adopted by MCAF’s board of directors, splits responsibilities between an artistic direction and an administrative direction, allowing the organization to respond with agility to the challenges of a growing event while maintaining a balance between creativity and management.

We are thrilled to welcome Pauline to our team. Her experience as a manager, along with her years as a volunteer within the festival’s organization, and her strong ability to bring people together make her the ideal person for the role.

Pauline Laurent has been surrounded by comic books since her early ages. After years of project management in web marketing and then video games, her love for the medium is now at the heart of her daily work. First a volunteer at MCAF, then Communications Manager, she now returns as Co-Executive Director and Director of Administration of MCAF.

” I discovered the Montreal Comic Arts Festival in 2017 and immediately fell in love with the event. A celebration of comics in the heart of the city, with a festive atmosphere, a rich lineup, and fascinating guests – it was my dream!
I joined the team the following year as a volunteer, then as a member of the organizing committee. Since 2018, MCAF has been a highlight of my year, and I’m thrilled to take on the co-direction with Virginie to carry this adventure even further, alongside the team, the board, and everyone who makes the festival what it is. “

A great lover of arts and literature, Virginie Mont-Reynaud was born in France but grew up in Montreal. Active on the Quebec cultural scene for over 15 years, she has worked with several cultural organizations and events, building her experience in the management and administration of cultural events.
For the past 10 years, she has been responsible for programming at MCAF. What began as a weekend of volunteering became a calling: today, she is Co-Executive Director and Artistic Director of MCAF. She has also been co-editor of PLANCHES, a Quebec comics magazine, since 2021.

” I’m very happy to begin this new adventure with Pauline. With our shared love for MCAF and our combined experience, I’m confident that this co-direction will allow us to grow the Festival, develop Montreal’s comic arts community, and showcase Quebec comics on a larger stage! “

Says Virginie Mont-Reynaud, Co-Executive Director and Artistic Director of MCAF.
