28th Bédélys Independent Submissions Now Open
Every year, the Independent Bédélys Awards celebrate the best self-published comic books in Quebec, in both French and English. This is an opportunity to honor independent comics: unique and bold works that reflect the creativity of local literature.
The Montreal Comic Arts Festival firmly believes in the importance of independent creation; that is why, every year, special attention is given to the participation of independent artists in the program, and their work is recognized through the Bédélys Awards.

Bédélys Independent
The Bédélys Independent Awards (Francophone and Anglophone) recognize the best self-published comics in Quebec. Each of these prizes comes with:
- a $1,000 grant
- a shared table at the next Festival
Selection Criteria :
- Francophone or Anglophone comic, self-published in 2026
- Quebec resident artist
- A print version must exist, webcomics that are not published in print will not be eligible
- No artwork generated in whole or in parts by Artificial Intelligence (AI) is accepted
Submit Your Application
To participate, you must fill out the online form and submit your work in two copies.
You can send or leave an envelope with the name of the Bédélys Awards at one of the following addresses:
