About Gérard DuBois

Born in France, he studied graphic arts in Paris, then moved to Montreal in 1991, where he began illustrating for press and publishing. He is the recipient of the prestigious Hamilton King Award from the Society of Illustrators in New York, as well as four gold medals. In 2018, Canada Post unveiled a Gérard DuBois stamp in the Great Canadian Illustrators series. In 2021, his illustrated books received the Governor General's Award, the Bologna Ragazzi Award, the New York Times Best Book of the Year, and the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award. In 2022, he was named Illustrator of the Year Award for his illustrations of Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road by the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and entered the museum's collection. To date, he has illustrated nearly 40 books for adults and children. He also teaches illustration at UQÀM.
