General Manager of Science pour tous (Science for all) since 2003, Jacques Kirouac has been in charge of the 24 heures de science event since its creation in 2006; he's also been looking after La Semaine de la culture scientifique since 2017. An administrator and animator, he studied animation and cultural research at UQAM in the mid-1970s. He has set up the Cabarets scientifiques (Maison de la culture Maisonneuve, since September 2015) and the Virées scientifiques (Maison culturelle et communautaire de Montréal-Nord, since September 2016). He is a trainer for the Réseau québécois de ressources en formation du Conseil québécois du loisir, and for the Unité régionale de loisir et de sport de l'île de Montréal. He is also a member of the Innovateurs à l'école et à la bibliothèque team, where he presents Quebec caving. Involved in his community, he has been a natural science animator for Boisé-des-Douze since 2013. He monthly leads outings on various subjects, including animal tracks and traces. He was also Director of the Société québécoise de spéléologie from 1990 to 2003, and previously of the Fédération québécoise du loisir photographique (FQLP) and of the Association pour le jeune cinéma québécois (APJCQ).
