About Sara Prune
Sara Prune plays pool and scores one long double after another. An eternal nostalgic, she collects vinyl records and CDs of jazz and hip-hop from the 1980s and 1990s, and really misses the poutine from Zellers. She was born in the 450 area near a chocolate factory, but found her true calling in the heart of the St Lawrence River. During her stay on Île aux Grues, she picked wildflowers, learnt to build fires and took up drawing again. Le tour de l’île, a short comic strip created for her first appearance at the FBDM, was a finalist at the 24th Bédélys Awards organised by the Montreal Comic Book Festival, in the Francophone Independent category (2023). In February 2026, she illustrated the children’s book Coeur de citron, published by KO éditions. Since then, she has launched her newsletter, The Little Prune Tales, which chronicles the ups and downs of life as a freelancer, sharing sketches, secrets and jokes from a £1 joke book. By 2027, she hopes to have completed her first children’s book or to become a VJ for Musique Plus.
