About Lou Lemelin

After studying Art History and Political Science, Lou Lemelin became a director and producer of documentary reports and films, a job she adored. Once retired, the author continued telling stories, this time through comics. She adopted a minimalist but evocative style, using a fine and fluid white line on a solid colour background. Her character, Omalou, emerged from the name given her by her Dutch grandchildren, “Oma” meaning “Granny”. Determined to live her old age with confidence and clairvoyance, her alter ego is surprised and delighted to reach an audience of all ages, moved by stories that make one laugh and think.
