About Peter Ricq
Peter Ricq is a Canadian filmmaker, animation director, and comic creator known for building bold, cinematic worlds that blend genre storytelling with striking visual design. With over two decades in the industry, his work spans television, feature film, and graphic novels, often merging horror, action, and dark humor into visually driven narratives. In animation, he is best known as the co-creator and art director of League of Super Evil, which aired internationally on Cartoon Network, CBBC, YTV and another 130 territories. As a filmmaker and comic creator, Ricq wrote and directed the award-winning horror feature Dead Shack starring Gabe LeBelle, distributed by Magnolia Pictures and premiering at major genre festivals including Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, FrightFest, and Fantasia International Film Festival, where it earned the Silver Prize for Best Canadian Feature. He is also the author and illustrator of multiple graphic novels, including Once Our Land. He is a member of the Juno-nominated band HUMANS, whose music videos he directed have been nominated at SXSW; the band has performed at SXSW seven consecutive years and at major international festivals including Coachella.
