Sophie Yanow is an artist from the San Francisco area. She used to live in Montreal; the Maple Spring notably inspired her first book, La guerre des rues et des maisons (La mauvaise tête, 2013). Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Guardian, Los Angeles Review of Books and The Nib. Her English translation of Dominique Goblet's Faire semblant c’est mentir won the Scott-Moncrieff Award. She also won an Eisner Award for The Contradictions, translated and published by Pow Pow in 2024.
