About Guillaume Brière
Born in Caplan in 1978, Guillaume Brière earned an Associate’s Degree in Visual Arts in Rimouski before moving to Quebec City to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts Education. A coachman in Old Quebec for 20 years, he gradually became a visual arts teacher and continues to teach today. Involved in all kinds of artistic projects for some thirty years, he is now launching his first comic book, the result of a personal artistic endeavor. That is to say, the thousand and one extraordinary adventures of the lone cowboy in a dangerous world, full of pitfalls and villains. Half of this work with its over-the-top title was created from comic strips drawn by the author as a teenager, and the other half, 30 years later. An experimental story that attempts to break away from the conventions of traditional comics. A cowboy, a dog, a groundhog, and plenty of other clichés take center stage in this series of completely absurd gags set in a trashy, graphic, and colorful universe.
