About Bruno Porto
Bruno Porto (Rio de Janeiro, 1971) is a graphic designer and comics researcher, having curated visual arts exhibitions and publications in countries across South America, Asia, and Europe. He is the author of award-winning books on visual communication and comics, including ARQUIVO OTA (2024), Typographic Memories of Rio de Janeiro (2019), and the upcoming TORONTO MASCOTS (2026). A member of the Canadian Society for the Study of Comics / La Société canadienne pour l’étude de la bande dessinée (CSSC/SCEBD) and the Brazilian Association of Sequential Arts Scholars (ASPAS), he is a regular contributor to the Eurocomics channel and the Lasercast podcast. Currently based in Toronto, he is pursuing a PhD on comic book cover design at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
