About Jimmy Suzan (Jimmy Suzan)
Jimmy Suzan has been an art director in advertising for over twenty years. Throughout his career, he has won several awards in design and illustration, and has worked at renowned agencies such as Sid Lee and Ogilvy & Mather. His portfolio includes international brands such as MGM Grand, Kraft, adidas, Cirque du Soleil, and the Montreal Canadiens hockey club. In 2010, he fulfilled a long-held dream by publishing his first graphic novel, Tricomb Dynasty. He also designed the logo, visual identity, and event poster for Montreal Comiccon in 2011, and again in 2016. Migrasyon is his first book published by La Pastèque. In Migrasyon, the author delves into the memories of his parents, who arrived in Quebec from Haiti in the 1970s. Through these recollections, he reconstructs the gestures, glances, and choices that shaped their lives. Between past and present, it gives form to their uprooting, their hopes, their struggles, and their gradual integration into a new land. A sensitive narrative, carried by a unique voice, where exile becomes the echo of a heritage to be tamed.
