Pour l’occasion\, les deux auteur·ices prendront la parole pour nous parler du processus de création et de l’impact que cette oeuvre peut avoir sur ceux et celles qui la lisent.\n\nÀ propos de la BD //\n« Travailler sur LES GLACES m’a amené à me poser énormément de questions sur mon propre parcours. Sur moi\, comme homme. Sur les erreurs que j’ai pu faire\, sur les comportements que j’ai pu et peux encore avoir\, sur mes angles morts. »\nQuand l’illustrateur et bédéiste Yoakim Bélanger a découvert le texte de la pièce de théâtre LES GLACES de Rébecca Déraspe (Les éditions de Ta Mère\, 2023)\, il l’a lu d’un trait. Secoué\, il a tout de suite voulu l’adapter en bande dessinée. Cette rencontre littéraire l’a plongé dans une grande réflexion personnelle.\nSi LES GLACES a eu tant d’impact sur lui\, c’est bien parce qu’il s’agit d’une histoire pleine de sensibilité\, de courage et de nuances : lorsque Noémie apprend que son fils est accusé d’agression sexuelle\, elle est aspirée par la vague et forcée de replonger dans ses traumas. Parce que si la tête peut faire croire à l’exil de la souffrance\, le corps\, lui\, n’oublie jamais. De la fonte de ses propres glaces naît alors une certitude : elle doit confronter les deux hommes qui\, il y a vingt ans\, l’ont elle-même agressée. Le ressac des questions qui émergent bouscule alors les trajectoires de plusieurs personnes.\nDans ses dessins\, Yoakim se met lui-même en scène\, avec son père\, incarnant des personnages d’hommes qui acceptent de remettre en question leur rapport à leur propre éducation. Cette BD poursuit ainsi un dialogue nécessaire sur les violences sexuelles.\n« En voyant les premières esquisses j’ai été renversée\, tant par la justesse de son œil que par celle de son cœur. Mais ce qui m’a le plus touchée\, ça l’a été de l’entendre me parler de ce qui s’est transformé en lui au contact de cette matière.»\, nous dit Rébecca Déraspe.\n\nMême avec un sujet délicat\, cette BD parvient à nous faire rire\, pleurer\, et laisse place à de grands moments de douceur. Un tour de force.\n\nÀ propos des auteur·ices //\nArtiste peintre multidisciplinaire\, Yoakim Bélanger expose partout au Canada et dans de nombreuses foires internationales. Il vit à Montréal\, dans le quartier Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.\nRébecca Déraspe est l’autrice de plusieurs pièces de théâtre jouées à travers le monde. En 2023\, Les glaces a été finaliste au Prix du Gouverneur général et récipiendaire du Prix Michel-Tremblay.
