Montreal, March 25, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 With great enthusiasm, the Montreal Comic Arts Festival (MCAF)<\/strong> unveils the 35 comic books selected as finalists for the 26th B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Awards<\/strong>. These distinctions, which celebrate the quality and richness of comics, highlight the most remarkable works published or distributed in Quebec in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 26 years, the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Awards have honored the creativity and talent of 9th art artists. This year, the winners will be celebrated during the Festival\u2019s opening night on May 22 at Club Soda<\/strong>. This event will mark the kickoff of the 14th edition of the Montreal Comic Arts Festival<\/strong>, which will take place on Saint-Denis Street from May 23 to May 25, 2025, in collaboration with the SDC Saint-Denis and T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Committed Partners Supporting Comic Arts Recognition<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Montreal Comic Arts Festival is proud to count on the support of valuable partners to reward Quebec comics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

T\u00e9l\u00e9-Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/a> will present the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Youth Qu\u00e9bec Finalists<\/strong>, accompanied by a $1,500 grant, for the second consecutive year. Additionally, La Fabrique culturelle<\/strong><\/a> will produce a video capsule featuring the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Librairie Plan\u00e8te BD<\/strong><\/a>, located in Montreal, will present the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Qu\u00e9bec Award<\/strong>, along with a $1,500 grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the Montreal Comic Arts Festival<\/strong> will offer each winner of the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Independent Francophone and Anglophone Awards<\/strong> a $1,000 grant as well as a half-table at the next edition of the Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Award will come with a unique trophy created by artist Karl Dup\u00e9r\u00e9-Richer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Montreal Comic Arts Festival<\/strong> and the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Awards jury members<\/strong> warmly congratulate the finalists for their outstanding works, which contribute to enriching and showcasing the world of comics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To determine this year’s finalists, the 89 members of the juries read 873 comics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
