Montr\u00e9al, March 23 2023 – <\/strong>The Montreal Comic Arts Festival<\/strong> is proud to announce the finalists for the 24th B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Awards<\/strong>. Recognizing the best comic books and graphic novels published in 2022, the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Awards will be presented during the festival\u2019s opening night on Thursday,  May 25<\/strong>. The 12th edition of MCAF will take place for the second year in a row on Saint-Denis Street from May 26 to 28<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The variety and quality of comic books published in Qu\u00e9bec and beyond never cease to amaze! The 35 finalists<\/strong> are excellent examples of the best works of 2022 and there truly is something for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something new this year, the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Youth Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong> category has been added to the awards and comes with a $1,000 grant. This year, a total of $4,000 will be awarded to the winners. The B\u00e9d\u00e9lys Qu\u00e9bec award and its $1,000 grant will be offered by Librairie Plant\u00e8te BD<\/strong>, in addition to the B\u00e9d\u00e9lys International award. A unique trophy created by artist Karl Dup\u00e9r\u00e9-Richer<\/strong> will accompany each prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners will be announced on Thursday, May 25, at Livart, during the opening night of the Montreal Comic Arts Festival<\/strong>. The event will be hosted by journalist and host Marie-Louise Arsenault.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
