Hear ye! Montreal and its Comics Art Festival (FBDM) are looking forward to celebrating their wood anniversary in 2016, and everyone is invited to take part in the festivities. It\u2019s already been five years and to mark the occasion, you are invited to visit Parc La Fontaine from May 27 to 29, 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Artists to discover<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You\u2019ll be able to stock up on comics (some of them autographed, maybe?) and meet artists, script writers and creators from all over. Activities for industry professionals will also be on the menu this year.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">A year to celebrate<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FBDM isn\u2019t celebrating alone; they will be accompanied by Jerome Bigras, a legendary character created by Jean-Paul Eid 30 years ago. Has Jerome at last reached the age of reason? To mark the event, M Eid has humbly accepted to prepare the next poster for the festival, a true work of art that you\u2019ll discover in a couple weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other anniversaries will be highlighted this year, including the twenty years of Conundrum Press, the fifteen years of M\u00e9canique G\u00e9n\u00e9rale and the five years of Pow Pow Press. No need to say that the mood will be festive!<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">An international presence<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The FBDM grows beautifully with the help of the public, the artisans and the volunteers. Together, year after year, we make this event a summer must-see in Montreal. However, the festival also continues elsewhere; last October, FBDM president Francois Mayeux was a jury member at the Festival BD of Algiers and participated in an meeting uniting the presidents of 10 international comic book festivals. Three delegates were also in Angoul\u00eame last January to consolidate established links (and to do a little bit of espionnage).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a few moments to jot down the next FBDM festival dates. If Mother Nature tries to rain on our parade, the festival will go on as it is properly protected from the elements. Don\u2019t forget that all the activities are also free of charge.
