DESCRIPTION:Découvrez cette exposition de bandes dessinées à l’image des quartiers. \nAu printemps 2021\, lors de forums culturels organisés sur le territoire de MHM\, les résidents souhaitaient trouver un moyen de valoriser le patrimoine immatériel des quartiers. Les maisons de la culture Maisonneuve et Mercier ont donc créé un laboratoire de l’immatériel dont l’objectif était de cristalliser les mémoires des quartiers par des projets de médiation culturelle. \nDurant trois ans\, des artistes de MHM ont sillonné l’arrondissement afin de récolter témoignages et anecdotes des résidentes et résidents du territoire et s’en sont inspirés pour créer des œuvres uniques. DESCRIPTION:Jeudi 23 octobre nous lancerons DEUIL ET CURIOSITÉS la toute première bande dessinée de Geneviève Côté. Le tout se déroulera de 18h à 20h à la toujours chic librairie Le port de tête. Au rendez-vous: dédicaces\, verres de vin et du plaisir\, beaucoup de plaisir.\nPour en savoir un peu plus:Suite au décès de son amoureux\, une illustratrice tente tant bien que mal de terminer un projet d’abécédaire jeunesse. Mais le cœur n’y est pas. Le travail est difficile à poursuivre. Peu à peu\, le deuil s’invite une lettre à la fois dans son projet. Deuil et curiosités est le récit de cette femme brisée par cet événement ultime qui chamboule son existence. Mais c’est aussi le récit de la vie qui se poursuit malgré tout. La résilience se pointe le bout du nez et il subsiste étonnamment toujours quelque chose pour émerveiller ou pour surprendre.\nSpécialisée dans l’album pour la jeunesse\, l’autrice-illustratrice Geneviève Côté fait le saut vers le public adulte avec une toute première bande dessinée. Une œuvre dure et tendre à la fois\, imprégnée d’humour. Un récit de deuil à la narration éclatée. We’re having a full moon party to celebrate the new graphic novel by Sophie Escabasse\, Witches of Brooklyn: Curse & Reverse!  Stop by the shop between 5 and 7 pm on Wednesday November 5th to buy books\, meet the author and get them signed\, and do some drawing activities! The event is free to attend and no rsvp is required.In the latest installment in the Witches of Brooklyn series\, twelve-year-old Effie is about to find out just how hard it can be to be a teen! When a witch targets the emotions of teenagers\, Effie and fellow witch-in-training Garance have to go undercover as teenagers themselves—luckily it’s nothing magic can’t do! But this witch might be more than Effie can handle. When Effie finds herself in the middle of a duel\, will her friends and family help her through?Sophie Escabasse is a French author and illustrator who lives in Montreal with her husband and three children and their black cat\, Terrence. She has illustrated many books for middle-grade readers\, including Florence Parry Heide and Roxanne Heide Pierce’s Spotlight Club Mysteries series and the Freestyler Funnies series by Tom Easton. She has been a graphic novel lover for as long as she can remember\, and she enjoys fun and expressive characters.
