DESCRIPTION:Attention l’inscription se fait pour les deux ateliers.\nLittérature | Ados et adultes | 2h\nNotre identité\, la manière dont nous nous positionnons dans le monde\, influence profondément notre perception de nous-mêmes. C’est le prisme à travers lequel nous vivons\, interprétons et comprenons nos expériences. Lorsque cette base identitaire se fissure\, se perd ou semble ne plus correspondre à ce que nous sommes\, l’impact sur la santé mentale peut être immense. \nLe club lecture propose un espace sécuritaire pour ouvrir un dialogue\, partager\, réfléchir et explorer ces questions en profondeur. Il invite les participant(e)s à entreprendre un exercice introspectif similaire à celui vécu par les huit personnes qui ont participé au projet photographique. \nLecture : Sélection Coup de poing\nLa collection coup de poing c’est des albums qui parlent d’identité\, de santé mentale et de ce qu’on vit pour vrai. On Tuesday March 3rd at 7 pm we will be discussing SUNDAY by OLIVIER SCHRAUWEN\, published by Fantagraphics. This meeting will be hosted by D+Q’s Executive Editor\, Tom Devlin. On the day of his girlfriend’s return from an extended trip\, Thibault wakes up\, does nothing\, gets James Brown stuck in his head\, drinks and smokes\, grows paranoid about his relationship\, struggles to compose text messages\, and watches The Da Vinci Code\, all the while avoiding anyone and everyone\, descending deeper into his own thoughts and fears. Meanwhile\, a former crush and another cousin of Thibault’s plan a surprise birthday for him\, sending the external and internal on a collision course.Schrauwen’s brilliant comic timing and formal mastery transcends the quotidian nature of the plot. Through use of color\, flashback and the dissonance between text and image\, the ways in which Schrauwen layers a depiction of human consciousness as lines on paper are infused heavily with slapstick and white-knuckle tension and make for an exhilarating read and breathtaking use of the comics medium./////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////OLIVIER SCHRAUWEN was born in Belgium in 1977 and studied animation at the Academy of Art in Gent\, and comics at ESA Saint-Luc in Brussels.
