Tout en créant un espace de métissage entre la bande dessinée et l’art visuel contemporain\, les œuvres se trouvent dans le croisement entre l’autobiographie et la fiction\, entre le sérieux et le comique et entre le profond et le banal. \nVernissage le 3 avril à 18 h. SUMMARY:Exposition "Comment agir avec les personnes en situation d'itinérance?"
DESCRIPTION:En 2022\, Philippe Malchelosse\, travailleur de rue et directeur général de Point de rue à Trois-RIvières\, a l’idée de créer une campagne de sensibilisation sur le web avec des illustrations de Catherine Bard. En collaboration avec le coopérative Les Affranchis\, Économie Québec et la Ville de Trois-Rivières\, trois bandes dessinées ont été produites et exposées à l’Assemblée nationale à l’automne 2023. \nLes illustrations ont pour but d’alimenter les réflexions et à encourager l’adoption d’un comportement bienveillant envers les gens en situation d’itinérance\, sans verser dans la morale. \nChacun des trois bandes dessinées aborde une question : \n\n«Donner aux personnes en situation d’itinérance\, mais quoi?»\n«Les personnes en situation d’itinérance représentent-elles un danger»?\n«Respecter les personnes en situation d’itinérance.. mais comment?»\n\nÀ travers le regard d’un personnage candide qui exprime au lectorat sa propre réflexion face à ces interrogations\, l’artiste témoigne de ses malaises et de ses préjugés. Elle propose également des pistes de réponses vulgarisées\, afin d’outiller la population à mieux comprendre et réagir lors d’interactions avec une personne en situation de rue. \nDeux bandes dessinées sont présentées à la bibliothèque Saul-Bellow jusqu’au 29 mai. \nLa troisième est exposée à la Maison du Brasseur jusqu’au 30 mai.

A man dwells on his absent father\, paints the man into a duppy myth\, and bears the consequences of this fantastical undertaking.\nInspired by the folk tales and oral traditions of his Caribbean roots\, Milk White Steed is a dreamlike venture into the messy truths of everyday West Indian lives: the abiding pursuit of the familiar and the vicious appraisal of their own otherness\, all at once. Phantom desires\, unchecked reveries\, and surreal visions of the future flood the page in full-color. Kennedy is a cartoonist and illustrator from the English midlands. Influenced by old British children?s comics and annuals\, his stories seek to present the lives of overlooked folk and and the lower classes. Notably\, he is the author of the small press series Mint\, a collection titled Mr Hardee and most recently Biffa. He has had comics work published by McSweeney?s Quarterly and The Believer. Working as an illustrator since 2020\, Michael has been published by the likes of The New Yorker\, New York Times and The Atlantic. He has lived in Tamworth\, Aston\, Olton and currently lives in Balsall Heath with his wife Carli.
