Étienne Poisson was born and raised in Longueuil. Very early on, his love for visual language and the plastic arts led him to take an interest in comics and figurative painting. He spent a few months in the art program at the Cégep du Vieux Montréal before reorienting himself. After obtaining his university degree in environmental studies, he returned to drawing and painting. Inspired by three rich years of music on the Sherbrooke underground punk scene with his band Tinpeulâ, he finally produced a first version of his comic book, Shotgun Lager, in collaboration with the band's singer, Steven Slab. In 2021, his first self-published printed comic book, Tuer le Peintre (with Olivier Robin at the script), was released and won the FBDM's French independent comic book award. Today Étienne lives in Montreal and works on many beer and illustration projects as a freelancer.
