[ENG] Graphic Novel Book Club: Shit is Real

Each month we host a Graphic Novel Book Club meeting, open to all, during which we hang out and informally discuss a featured graphic novel. Our pick for this August is Shit Is Real by Aisha Franz. We will meet at La Petite Librairie Drawn & Quarterly (176 Rue Bernard Ouest) on Wednesday, August 15th at 7 p.m. The discussion will be hosted by Drawn & Quarterly staffer Rachel Davies. Rachel Davies says:
I’m a longtime fan of Aisha Franz, but when I read Shit Is Real, it immediately became my favourite work of hers and one of my favourite comics of the year. This book so skillfully demonstrates the experience of feeling lost in one’s own mind and place in the world. Despite how anxious this experience may be, I wish I could climb into her world—Franz’s luscious drawings of furniture and clothing make this book something I’m constantly itching to reread.
